The current issue of the STIL is dedicated to the senses. Through them as threshold organs we experience ourselves, other people and the world. They are our bodily windows through which that what lies beyond the boundary can express itself. The senses are given to us with our physicality, and yet they must first be developed, nurtured and refined. In a world in which one of the main endeavours is to free people from their bodies and to increasingly replace parts of them, recognising the importance of the senses for human development is existential. The texts in this edition are dedicated to these questions, focussing on the understanding of the so-called upper senses - the sense of speech, the sense of thought and the sense of I. All the senses converge in the sense of I. It is the light that penetrates through the window, but also penetrates out and at the same time unfolds itself at the threshold.
For the time being, the STIL magazine will only be published in German. An English translation of the STIL as an online edition is planned. If you are interested, please contact: sbk. @goetheanum.ch
