Art shows reality from a different perspective and in a different dimension. It liberates us from the obviousness and necessity of everyday life. Ways are opened up to feel one's own boundaries, to transform and rediscover oneself. The edition for Johanni 2025 includes contributions by the Greek poet Thanassis Lambrou and the Korean-German painter Xianwei Zhu on the existential significance of art in their own lives and in today's society, which is torn apart by extremes. There are also research contributions by Markus Treichler on the healing power of art in therapy and by Sarah Starovsky on the effect of sculpting in education. Christiane Haid explores the topical question of what the difference is between AI art and art by an artist. The variety of contributions makes this issue of great interest to educators, scientists and artists alike.
For the time being, the STIL magazine will only be published in German. An English translation of the STIL as an online edition is planned. If you are interested, please contact: sbk@goetheanum.ch.
