In the present Goetheanum the ceiling painting in the large hall is based on Rudolf Steiner's sketches. In the first Goetheanum the small dome was also painted above the stage. In addition to the sketches, Rudolf Steiner also painted the south side himself. The small dome is built up according to a different principle than the large dome, from the primer to the motifs. To discover and explore these principles, is the aim of this painting week.

The study week with Esther Gerster is aimed at all those who want to get to know and deepen the grounding and motifs of the small dome of the first Goetheanum. No previous knowledge is necessary. We will work with pastels and watercolours. Shared reflections and exchange will complement our own work.
